The Bottom Line
The River City Cycling Classic is a cycling omnium, including a time trial and road race on Saturday and a criterium on Sunday. Unlike a stage race, racers can compete in events individually with no need to pass one event to qualify for the next. Competitors can race in one, two, or all three events.
Omnium Rules
- Omnium tie breaker. In case of a tie on total points, the tie will be broken in favor of the rider who has: (a) the most first place finishes or, if still tied, the most second place finishes, etc., or if still tied; (b) the highest placing in the road race, followed by the highest placing in the crit., followed by the highest placing in the TT.
- Omnium payouts with take place following the podium ceremonies Sunday.
- Prize money will be handed directly to participants. All prize money not picked up will be mailed within 10 business days. Racers must contact the race director to provide a mailing address. Merchandise will be distributed at podium presentation for each event. Merchandise cannot be shipped, racers must be present to claim merchandise prizes.
